Weight loss for pre-empty nester women who don't like working out

Vitamix vs Magic Bullet

So, you’ve heard about the benefits of green smoothies and you’re in the market for a blender to make them.

You’ve seen the infomercials or maybe even the demonstrations at Costco and are thinking, “which blender is the best?” Well, it’s time to have the blender showdown from someone who has owned both!

Magic Bullet.

The Magic Bullet can be purchased for about $50 with all sorts of attachments (that you probably will never use). The ease of making one shake at a time and not messing up more dishes is a plus for a busy person. However, I have found that it is really loud, doesn’t crush ice very well, and breaks easily. I found that I had to replace one every year. But, I did love that I could make the shake and drink it from the same cup! Less dishes is a win for this busy mom!

Pros: Low price, Easy Cleanup, Convenient

Cons: Doesn’t Crush Ice Well, Breaks Easily, Noisy

Vitamix.

Woah. Those things are expensive! I’d watched the demonstrations at Costco and thought, that’s cool that it can make all those different things, but I just need it to make shakes. With all four in my family drinking a fruit and veggie shake every day (more on this in a minute), I found that the Magic Bullet wasn’t cutting it. Plus, I had to replace them every year.

A friend encouraged me to bite the bullet (no pun intended) and purchase the Vitamix. I love how quickly I could make our shakes, how it made the shakes smooth with no ice chunks, and how it was slightly quieter than the Magic Bullet.

I think I’ve had mine for about eight years. I haven’t had to replace it although I feel like I need a new canister because ours is looking a little worn from all its use. I also love that I can make soup and other things from it. You don’t have to spend the money on the most expensive one in the lineup because truthfully, you probably won’t use all of those functions.

Pros: Makes multiple drinks, Reliable, Excellent Ice Crushing

Cons: Expensive, Still Pretty Loud, More Cleanup

So, which is the winner? It really depends on your goals and your family. If you’re committed to a healthy lifestyle and enjoy a daily smoothie, a Vitamix will be worth the investment.

However, if you’re new to making shakes, you might start with a Magic Bullet and get used to it before making the bigger investment in a Vitamix.

Whichever blender you use, I highly recommend using Shakeology as the base of your daily smoothie. It always makes my day better! With over 70 fruits and veggies in one glass, my healthiest meal of the day will always be Shakeology.

As a busy mom, I was sluggish and lacked energy to make it through the day…especially in the afternoon. With Shakeology, I don’t get that 3pm slump I used to get, and I don’t have the cravings for sweets anymore, either. Because I’m not grabbing for unhealthy choices, I find I am able to maintain my waistline – especially in conjunction with fitness training. It also helps everyone in my family stay “regular”…if you know what I mean. Want to know more? Read more here.

There was a recent post in my neighborhood Facebook group that read: In search of a unicorn: Remote, work-from-home, part-time job Make my own hours Not MLM Not cold calling I've done Door Dash before but don't want to put any more wear/tear on my car. I'm an efficient typist. I have 13+ years of self-taught graphic design (Photoshop & Illustrator) experience. I'm tech-savvy, creative, and I learn quickly. Any ideas? It made me wonder why Network Marketing/MLM jobs get such a bad rap? I get it, I used to avoid the lady at my church who always wanted me to have a home party for her. And, I said “no” to all the people who introduced me to their opportunities. A few bad apples might have left a bad taste in your mouth too. However, I remember reading a book about Mary Kay Ash when I was in elementary school. The business she created allowed her to be present for her kids while also building a business. That was something I always desired. And the business model she created also made sense. It was a lot of people coming together to do a little which compounded into something big. As a stay at home mom, I was getting tired of being strapped financially and I wanted some play money. I didn’t want to work outside of the home because my kids were my priority and I wanted to be fully available to them. I was approached by my BFF about a business. At first, I said no and began to avoid her like the lady at my church. But, then I started to become curious about the business opportunity. I’d seen how well the products worked for my BFF and her husband. And, I remembered Mary Kay Ash’s network marketing business. This business opportunity wasn’t selling makeup, pills, or a face cream but a lifestyle change that would create a ripple effect for those who used the products. It was what I personally needed for my health and it made sense. I can tell you the truth about network marketing. It is the best business model I have found for women who want to work their own hours, has a small start-up cost, and allows them to leverage their time by working as a team. It takes hard work, diligence, and being coachable. You are the type who isn’t afraid to try something new and wants to create a ripple effect that can make an impact on generations to come. Let’s make a lasting impact together. More information about how you can join me in changing lives can be found here .
