Weight loss for pre-empty nester women who don't like working out

As parents, we're in the midst of a dietary jungle, with a barrage of diets lurking around every corner. Paleo, keto, gluten-free—oh my! It's a nutritional maze that even adults find perplexing, let alone our soon-to-be college-bound kids. So, how do we equip them with the wisdom to navigate this dietary labyrinth without falling into the clutches of unhealthy habits? Fear not, foodie parents! It's time to turn healthy eating into a joyous journey for our budding scholars.

Healthy College Eating: A Feast of Options:

Picture this: the college dining hall, a gastronomic wonderland offering a smorgasbord of options, from kale salads to quinoa bowls. It's a culinary playground, but here's the catch—if our students don't have a grasp on what "healthy" truly means for them, they might feel as lost as a vegetarian in a bacon factory.

Pre-College Culinary Bootcamp:

Now, imagine your student in their apartment kitchen, faced with the challenge of concocting a nutritious meal. Panic not! A little pre-college culinary boot camp is in order. Turn meal preparation into a family fiesta by inviting your kids to cook alongside you. Better yet, hand them the apron and let them take the lead on one family meal a week this summer. It's a deliciously fun way to instill the basics of healthy cooking before they spread their culinary wings.

My top 3 tips for a lifetime of nutritious choices:

1.Water, water, and more water!

Hydration is the unsung hero of healthy living, especially for sleep-deprived college-goers. Encourage your kids to start with water before diving into meals. Not only does it stave off overeating, but it also fends off dehydration headaches and aids digestion. Think of it as the H2O superhero cape—ready to rescue them from the pitfalls of poor hydration.

2. Go Green for the Win

Vegetables are the unsung champions of the food world. Packed with fiber to keep hunger at bay and boost brainpower, veggies are the MVPs of every plate. Make it a fun challenge to incorporate a spectrum of colors on their plate—rainbow eating, anyone? After all, who said healthy had to be bland? Spice it up and watch those taste buds do the happy dance.

3. Prioritize Protein

Enter the superhero of satiety—protein! Teach your kids the art of prioritizing protein before diving into carbohydrates. It keeps them full, satisfied, and assists in muscle gain. Whether it's a protein-packed breakfast or a hearty dinner, let protein take center stage on their plates. It's the secret weapon for fueling their superhero journeys.

If you have a college-aged son or daughter, enlighten us with the tips they've gathered in the pursuit of healthy dorm or apartment dining. The more we share, the more we empower the next generation of foodies.

As we embark on this tasty adventure, let's turn healthy eating into a family affair. Make it playful, make it fun, and most importantly, make it a lifelong love affair with delicious and nutritious choices.

After all, who said healthy eating can't be a feast for the senses and a celebration of good food?

There was a recent post in my neighborhood Facebook group that read: In search of a unicorn: Remote, work-from-home, part-time job Make my own hours Not MLM Not cold calling I've done Door Dash before but don't want to put any more wear/tear on my car. I'm an efficient typist. I have 13+ years of self-taught graphic design (Photoshop & Illustrator) experience. I'm tech-savvy, creative, and I learn quickly. Any ideas? It made me wonder why Network Marketing/MLM jobs get such a bad rap? I get it, I used to avoid the lady at my church who always wanted me to have a home party for her. And, I said “no” to all the people who introduced me to their opportunities. A few bad apples might have left a bad taste in your mouth too. However, I remember reading a book about Mary Kay Ash when I was in elementary school. The business she created allowed her to be present for her kids while also building a business. That was something I always desired. And the business model she created also made sense. It was a lot of people coming together to do a little which compounded into something big. As a stay at home mom, I was getting tired of being strapped financially and I wanted some play money. I didn’t want to work outside of the home because my kids were my priority and I wanted to be fully available to them. I was approached by my BFF about a business. At first, I said no and began to avoid her like the lady at my church. But, then I started to become curious about the business opportunity. I’d seen how well the products worked for my BFF and her husband. And, I remembered Mary Kay Ash’s network marketing business. This business opportunity wasn’t selling makeup, pills, or a face cream but a lifestyle change that would create a ripple effect for those who used the products. It was what I personally needed for my health and it made sense. I can tell you the truth about network marketing. It is the best business model I have found for women who want to work their own hours, has a small start-up cost, and allows them to leverage their time by working as a team. It takes hard work, diligence, and being coachable. You are the type who isn’t afraid to try something new and wants to create a ripple effect that can make an impact on generations to come. Let’s make a lasting impact together. More information about how you can join me in changing lives can be found here .
